Boulevard Trees
Pleasant View has a community forest of over 1,200 boulevard and park trees in our neighborhood to provide shade, screening, and beauty that is especially valuable. Many of these trees are on the boulevards and are cared for by homeowners.
In accepting the Pleasant View HOA covenants, all homeowners agreed to plant and maintain at least one tree every 30 feet along the boulevard adjacent to their property.
The City of Missoula requires a tree planting permit be submitted to the Urban Forester before any purchasing of plant material or planting commences. The Urban Forestry office also provides information about proper tree planting and care. Please visit the following website to submit your application for your free permit: http://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/index.aspx?NID=234.
This page also has a link to a ‘Desirable Street Tree List’ which may be helpful in identifying a good tree species.
